As most of you know, we had a wringing wet weekend last week. We were lucky, our power went out late in the day on Friday, but that was pretty much the worst thing. We worked at the house during the downpour. We decided to brew a batch of our Celestiale IPA this week, and headed to the brewery on Monday. Holy cow, our road in the hollow was an absolute mess! Evidently it became a creek. New ditches, gravel in the field, and some pretty treacherous driving. We made it out, but decided we'd take the long way home.
We brewed a 5 bbl batch over Monday and Tuesday, did a bit more sealing - Chuck and Bill's caulking job worked pretty darn well last week. We also began putting up some more beer decor in the new space. Once we know it's all in the dry, we can begin on shelving and such.
We signed up for the Taste of Arkansas Craft Beverage fest to be held in Little Rock at the end of May. This is an inauugural Arkansas Brewers Guild event, highlighting the good eats and drinks we have here in our state. We'll be doing the honors from 12 noon to 5 pm at First Security Amphitheater in downtown Little Rock. Mark your calendars!
We tapped out of Hoppy Together India Red on Saturday, so we have Brahma Fear back on tap. The lemon ginger Time of the Saison is holding out, although one of us is doing her best to drink it all! The Irish Upon A Star is particularly tasty, and we know a few folks who are happy that our Scottish is back on tap. Mild Thang!, Brown-Eyed Girl, Kolsch from the Cold, Cloud 9 Hoppy Hazy IPA, Red Ryeder Rye Ale, Nightfall India Black Ale, Coco ChanAle and Hot Coco chocolate browns round out the beer menu.
