Events and Specials

This page lets you know what's happening at Gravity BrewWorks - specials, events, advisories, alerts, updates - and things related to beer and brewing. Check back often!

Gravity Discontinuing Masks
The governor has rescinded the statewide mandate for mask wearing. He also said that people should respect businesses that choose to keep the COVID-19 mandates in place. Gravity BrewWorks is eliminating mandatory mask wearing for now, although the staff and some patrons may still wear them. Please give them space. If you're unsure or have any questions, please call ahead of your visit. This goes for any attraction, or restaurant, or brewery. And yeah, that hand-washing stuff still applies!

On Saturday, May 21, the good folks at The Grove Comedy Club will host a fundraiser benefitting Michael Peerson of Rendezvous Junction and the Arkansas Brewers Guild! Eighteen breweries, including Gravity BrewWorks, will set up and have beer for this special event, which runs from 12 pm to 6 pm. Emcee Garrett Lewis, Jenna and the Soul Shakers, Grupo Gallos Finos, Delta Crawfish nwa, and comedian Craig Shoemaker will also be part of the event. The Grove is located at 808 South Bloomington Street, Lowell AR. There's general admission tickets as well as VIP tickets; tickets are available by clicking this link: BrewHaHa (ale-truism.com). Hope to see you this weekend!

Bowl Extravaganzas Returns to Gravity
Remember the Bowl Extravaganzas? Chili, chowder, beans, soups? Well, they're returning, beginning next Thursday, April 7. Donations to the Bowls benefit the Friends of Stone County Recycling - what was the Re-Use Center. Marion is coordinating the cooks, so if you're interested in doing one of the Extravaganzas, get with her. If you're interested in eating, just show up (preferably with a donation) about 4 pm on Bowl days, which we hope will be once a month on Thursday. See you then!

The New Gazebo

A long while back we discussed adding a gazebo and decided to put it at the northeast corner of the fenced in area. Adrian, Judy, Brent, Rex, Tony, and Bill began work a few weeks ago, barking, sanding and finishing oak beams and posts that Kevin cut in the spring. We decided on an octagon, with eight posts and rafters; plus bedrock and native stone for the floor, anchored with sand and gravel around the whole structure. While there are some aesthetic items to finish and a few other touches (like mowing) the gazebo is pretty much done. We plan on adding some sort of seating later on but haven't decided what we'd like to put in.

Support your local breweries!
Here in Arkansas, the Arkansas Brewers Guild represents the state's breweries through legislation, events, fundraisers, and media. Because of COVID-19, our Guild couldn't hold the usual tap takeovers, Oktoberfest, festivals, etc., for 2020, much of 2021, and it looks like 2022 is beginning the same way. We need your help in fundraising to keep Arkansas beer-friendly. We've created a video at https://youtu.be/CuFGl4-50H8 and media events on the ABG website and Facebook, as well as a donation site at https://arkansas-brewers-guild.square.site/. Take a look and please help out if you can!

More Changes at Gravity
We've made a lot of changes at Gravity. We've done a little expanding inside, and put up a pavilion using cedar posts made from trees on the brewery property. Eventually it will be enclosed to make the tasting room bigger. We also made an addition to the brew house, and we got the garage door moved to the outside of the new space. So while we still have a few things to move in - like all that grain - we're using the new space. This gives us a bigger grain room, another walk-in, keg cleaning space, packaging space, and a dock for truck deliveries. We recently added a bottling machine to our gadgetry, so that eventually we'll be able to offer bottled Gravity brews to our patrons.

Gravity Beers and Whiskey Barrels
After the success of our Abbey Normal Belgian Stout and our Humble Beginnings Porter aged in Heaven Hill and Jim Beam barrels, we got more local with the barrels. Bill's been getting some homegrown barrels from Rock Town Distillery, and we've put our Kilt Me Softly Scottish Ale, Blacker 'n Ale Stout, Humble Beginnings Porter, Blacker Shade of Ale Stout, Abbey Normal Belgian Stout and Oat of Sight Oat of Mind Scottish Ale into these barrels. We like them for their size, quality, and "localness". Look for more of these barrel aged beers to come on tap.

Gravity 1/6 Barrel Kegs Now Available
If you've got a kegerator, you can now get a 1/6 barrel keg - 5 gallons - of Gravity beer. Since we put in the bigger system, we can supply those much requested kegs. Of course it's limited to the beers we have available. Customers will need to supply their own tapping equipment. Any questions, give us a call at 870-448-2077, or ask about it the next time you're at Gravity.

Twelve Taps and Stopping
We got all our taps through the wall late last year, so now there is space for twelve Gravity beers - yippee!! This means we'll have space for guest taps when we want them, and we still intend to have guest beers - usually in a style that we don't currently make or have in kegs.

In the photo, you can see how the beer lineup looks on the menu board as well as all of our taps. We offer flights of four 4-oz. beers now that we have a bigger selection. So next time you come in, check out the beer menu. Yes, we know it was easier back when we had four Gravity brews on tap. Your choice just got a lot harder!

Hop Drop Series
The Hop Drop brews are a planned series of single-hopped beers. Each beer is an IPA, brewed with less caramel in the west coast style. We use only a single hop or proprietary hop blend in all the hop additions. This really allows you to experience all the bittering, flavor, and aromatic qualities of that particular hop. When you visit the tasting room, try the beer and give us your feedback!
So far we've tried Zythos, then Falconers Flight, both hop blends. Next came Ahtanum, then 5256, an experimental hop. Then we used 7 C's blend, Calypso, Sorachi Ace, Bravo, Mosaic, Simcoe, El Dorado, Summit, Citra, experimental 07270, Denali, Ekuanot, Azacca, Comet, Sabro, and Motueka, a New Zealand cross. Next up, Polaris, a German high alpha aroma hop.

Gravity is on Facebook
At long last, we have a Facebook page...to all those folks that asked for it. Of course, we kept it simple - look us up at http://www.facebook.com/gravitybrewworks. Note that our name has no spaces; there's another site but it's not our page. So be sure you're on the right page!

Gravity is on Untappd!
We've got a page on Untappd, the social beer site. You can go online and tell everyone about our beers...or anyone else's, for that matter. Look us up at untappd.com, and say something good about us!
